On February 3rd 2020, the Software Unit rate computed for ALL Microsoft SQL servers (new and existing) running Microsoft SQL Server versions 2008, 2012, 2014, and 2016 will change. The change does not affect Microsoft SQL 2017 usage.
CloudControl Change Id: OEC-11937 Time: Effective usage calculation for February 3 usage Expected Total Duration: None - the new rates will apply when usage is calculated
The usage rate change will also modify the usage calculation from per server to per CPU. Depending on the number of CPUs on your server, this may result in either an increase or decrease in Software Units usage incurred by your servers. Servers with less than four CPU will see an effective decrease. Servers with more than four CPU will see an increase.
These changes will take effect starting with the computation of February 3rd usage.
A summary of the specific usage rate changes are as follows:
1) MICROSOFT SQL SERVER 2008-2016 STANDARD EDITION
CURRENT RATE: 660 units/hr PER SERVER
